Over the years I have had the good fortune to travel, explore and photograph many different parts of the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and the Himalayas. International work as a geologist provided me with convenient access to many remote areas.

Whether it was trekking in Nepal, geological mapping in South America or mountaineering in BC, a constant companion in the field has been my camera; initially 35mm cameras shooting Kodachrome, followed in the 1980's with a Hasselblad 500C loaded with Ilford Black & White film. I now use a variety of digital cameras, and continue to shoot medium-format, black & white film which I develop and scan to produce digital images.

Recently retired from professional geoscience, I am now able to concentrate full-time on photography. My primary interest is landscape photography, especially in regard to environmental issues. However, a quick look through my portfolio will find a wide range of other types of photography: street scenes, portraits and travel photography.

I print all of my own fine art prints using a variety of archival-grade cotton rag, alpha-cellulose, and bamboo papers, each one selected to best compliment a specific image. My prints have been displayed in both public and private art galleries in the Okanagan, auctioned at the Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts, and sold in the Lake Country Artwalk artshow.

“My photographs are not simply a documentary record; they are an interpretation of the world that I live in and experience, a world that is now changing rapidly. If my photographs are able to connect to people and influence them in a positive way, then I am satisfied.”
